Ragtops at Cars and Coffee Event – Hardy Park Bistro, Ft Lauderdale
On Sunday, May 29th, a member of the Ragtops team attended a local Cars and Coffee event which is held the last Sunday of every month. The event has existed for sometime but this was the first opportunity for one of us to attend. The event is 8 AM to 10:30ish AM in the parking lot at the Hardy Park Bistro on 7th Street in Ft. Lauderdale. Since the Bistro doesn’t open until most everyone has departed, Martin has coordinated with Cienfuegos Coffee to bring her mobile coffee shop to the event, offering delicious coffees and treats. The owner states the Bistro not opening to serve the car crowd, gives her a “great opportunity for some nice business!”
The event is put together by Martin, a local classic car enthusiast. Martin states “I just do it to allow the South Florida car guys and gals to have the opportunity to bring their cars out for a nice Sunday morning drive and share their stories.” Martin has built the event by attending local car shows and spreading the word. The event this Sunday was well attended with cars as old as a 1937 Alvis to late BMWs and Porsches and many great and rare cars in between. On this particular day, Ragtops was well represented by a great little, bright red 1961 Triumph TR3A.
