This is by far the nicest and rarest of all the Woodies we have offered in 41 years! In fabulous condition, this 1939 is a Hercules Body Co of Evansville Indiana Pontiac, and is one of just seven currently registered with the National Woodie Club. Hercules bodies are well regarded by Woodie enthusiasts for their handsome choice of materials, beautifully contrasting dark mahogany paneling with light ash framing. This Pontiac was used for many years as an estate wagon, primarily during the summer, while appearing to have been well stored during the winter months. It ended up for a bit in California where it was featured as the poster car for the 2003 Wavecrest Woodie meet in Encinitas, a nationally known and very well attended by Woodie aficionados. (I would love to find a copy of that poster if anyone has one!) This Deluxe Six features period GM fog lights, bumper guards, a Deluxe steering wheel, heater, radio and a very unusual cabin fan mounted on the dashboard! During its lifetime it was treated to a professional repaint in the original color and replacement of the seat covers, including the often lost or misplaced third seat! With the just completed addition of brand new Firestone wide whites, this Pontiac is an amazing piece of American Woodie Rolling Artwork! We are happy to help arrange transportation and/or financing if so desired.
